How to install and use mIRC.

1. Go to mIRC.com and download the latest version or mIRC, install it.

2. When starting mIRC for the first time the following popup window will appear:

3. Fill in the details as requested (Note: you don't have to enter your real name, most people simply use their nickname for the "Full Name" section)

4. In the category list (on the left) choose "Servers" (click the + next to "Connect" if the options are not shown). The window will change to look like this:

5. In the IRC Network drop-down, choose "Quakenet".

6. In the IRC Server drop-down, choose "Quakenet: Random server".

7. Click OK.

8. mIRC will run and connect to Quakenet (if it does not, click the"lightning bolt" - see below)

9. Once connected to the network, you will be in the status window (Note: If someone is already using the nickname you want, you will not be able to connect. Go back to the options - the small hammer/folder icon next to the "lightning bolt" and change your nickname)

10. type /join #Ballistic-Studios and press enter.

11. When you enter the channel, it should look similar to this:
