Ballistic Addon Studio runs an irc [Internet Relay Chat] channel where some of the team hang out to chat about OFP/ArmA, our addons and the world in general.

For those people already familiar with irc, in order to join this channel simply connect to quakenet, and join #Ballistic-Studios

For those of you unfamiliar with irc, we recommend you get mIRC (or any other irc client) in order to join the chat. A mini tutorial on the installation and use of mIRC can be found here .

If you want to get a feel for irc before you take the plunge, or just want to see what its like without downloading and installing a new program, we have a very basic web-based client here. Note: Please only use this application for short/irregular visits to the channel. If you intend to visit regularly or for extended periods please download a proper irc client like mIRC.

The #Ballistic-Studios channel has very few rules, and any conversation is generally welcome. The rules we do enforce (those who disobey them will be banned from the channel) are:

1. Speak in English language only. English is the common language of the internet, and all BAS members speak it.

2. Only BAS Team members will be “Op” (have a @ in front of their name).

3. Only BAS Contributors (people who make us missions or other content) will have voice (have a + in front of their name).

4. No Spam.

5. No discussions about Warez or Pornography.

 

General notes about irc: Many people like to “idle” on irc, this means they leave their client connected to the channel whilst not necessarily being at the computer. For this reason people might not actually be present when you join the channel. If people do not respond straight away, be patient, they will return eventually.

The channel is meant as a place where people can get to know the BAS team on a more personal level. #Ballistic-Studios is meant not only to talk about OFP/ArmA but about hobbies and interests, the BAS Team members are people too!

Please don’t use #Ballistic-Studios as a place to constantly ask about release dates. The BAS team has learnt from OFP that release dates are rarely if ever met, so will not be giving any. Any requests for release dates or progress updates in the channel will be ignored. We will be more than happy to talk about/trouble shoot released addons.
